The Mad Arts Society is a collaboration of Nathaniel Doyle III and Janella Rodgers. The Avant Garde art combines elements from Manga, Anime, video game artistry, funny caricatures, newspaper comics, cartoons, graphic comic book expressions, universal multicultural ethnic art inclusive of some aspects of Pop Art, including influences from the artist Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein as well as Cubist Picasso, added to that Neo-Dadaism of Japanese artist Keeichi Tanaami, and Neo-Expressionism of Jean Michel Basquiat. Even more influences are Japanese artist Takashi Marukami, Art Brut, and The Outsider Art Movement.
The art includes portrait like quality creations and some resemblance to street graffiti, with its imaginary landscapes, fantasy figures, comedic expressions, romanticized ideology, vibrant psychedelic colors, and universal diverse cultural themes. The Mad Arts Society challenges each viewer to test the limitations of reality and explore cultural expressions. The Mad Arts Society art transcends race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, socio-economics, by inviting the viewer to participate in a fantastical illusion, rendering a universal message that will rock your world or any world in the cosmos for that matter. The goal of the Mad Arts Society, or going mad so to speak, is to explore altered states of reality, merged with alternate forms of reality like one would find in a parallel universe, expanding upon the multiverse and multi-dimensional aspects of energy and time and space. The viewer of such art sees through the mad lens increasing and intensifying their perception of reality. The Mad Arts World allows one to explore the paradoxes and dichotomies of art and life and it's many distortions. Allowing one to have universal connections transcending labels or categorical hiearchies. We are all the same through the mad lens, despite our small differences. The purpose of such a society is to encourage a mad view of the world, something that is inclusive and surreal at the same time. The art supports a twisted yet intricate view of reality, that allows for individual interpretation, yet bonding one within various cultural and communal contexts.
The Mad Arts Society art uses the medium of some digital art work created in Manga Studio program, simple pencil illustrations, and acrylic based paint creations. The Mad Arts Society employs a variety of creative genres accentuating a thorough visual presentation embedded in a free society's diversity and cultural explosion. It as well expands on well known national personalities and celebrities juxtaposed against an international backdrop. All one really needs for free expression, is the arts, the mad arts that is, we have a variety of art creative enough to drive you mad! The Mad Arts Society strives to strengthen the mad artist inside us all.
